It was very disturbing to hear a chant of "build that wall, build that wall!" at a Trump rally in California during the 2016 presidential campaign.  The thought of building a wall between the United States and Mexico is a very sad thought.  The wall will separate us from our neighbor and massively impede friendly relations between us.  The symbolism and crushing reality of a wall between us are devastating.  President Trump acts to separate and divide.  I suggest we build bridges and unite human beings in striving for peace and prosperity and brotherhood.  This is especially vital as we face crises of climate change and spiraling violence in the world.  Let us be friends with Mexico.  I submit that President Trump's wall is a violation of the letter and spirit of the Preamble and Article 1 of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

"All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood."

Please do NOT build that wall!
