Poverty is Getting Worse

Updated 2024

Poverty is getting much worse thanks to the policies of both parties. All indications are that poverty is not only getting worse, it is approaching third world status in many areas. We can ill afford to ignore these dangers.

Poverty—and the stress of being poor—is killing people every single day

To aggravate the problem actions and agencies which in the past alleviated the misery - such as unemployment insurance, medicare, access to higher education, and social security - are now being dismantled or diminished. The chances to climb out of poverty are diminishing and there is a sophisticated effort to portray poor people as lazy moochers off of society rather than hold policy makers of both parties accountable.

Scott Galloway offers an excellent overview in his book  Adrift: America in 100 ChartsTelling the story of our nation through 100 charts, Galloway offers a unique take on where we’re headed and who we’ll become.

The reason I have so many references is to show this is a steadily increasing trend that I continuously update. It is not a vanishing blip on the radar. Failure to deal with this trend will have disastrous consequences for the future.

This is not the result of an accident or natural disaster. It is the result of decades of government policy by both democrats and republicans.

This will have disastrous consequences as we head towards a more and more unequal society.

Help make your progressive case by using this documentation which is continuously updated. https://www.newprogs.org/make_your_case
